KNOWING THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF GLANUM
An ancient city at the gates of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. More than a century of archaeological research on the Glanum site allows us to present the witnesses of an exceptional architectural ensemble. The local elites have taken advantage of the natural resources, the perennial spring and the limestone, to adorn the city of a monumental jewel case unique in Provence.
Located in the heart of the Alpilles massif, at the crossroads of major traffic routes, the Gallic city was bathed in Greek and then Roman influences and knew its full development from the second century BC.
